About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to serve as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) enterprise Subject Matter Expert and team lead. This role combines technical expertise, leadership, and strategic planning to ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of DHS' Cross Domain Access Solution across the DHS enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and manage a team supporting Cross Domain technology, providing technical guidance and mentorship
Develop comprehensive engineer strategies in coordination with DHS Cross Domain Solutions Program Manager
Create and implement cross domain deployment strategies that minimize user impact
Design and execute training strategies to ensure team's proficiency in system operations and maintenance
Technical Operations
Install, configure, and deploy cross domain solution to production environment
Maintain and operate infrastructure systems include RHEL, Hyper-V, and Windows servers
Oversee VPN configurations on Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA)
Perform regular updates of virtual hard drives (VHD) and ISO files
Provide advanced technical support for complex issues
Serve as the escalation point for challenging technical problems
Security & Compliance
Author Site Security Plans for security accreditation
Prepare and submit Authority To Operate (ATO) documentation
Ensure compliance with DHS security standards and protocols
Cross-functional Collaboration
Build and maintain relationships with HEITS Operations and Engineering teams
Participate in Change Control Board meetings and demonstrations
Present capabilities to stakeholders and technical teams
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Extensive experience with cross-domain solutions
Strong knowledge of Cisco ASA and VPN technologies
Proven leadership experience managing technical teams
Experience with security accreditation processes and ATO documentation
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and presentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant security certifications
Experience working within DoD/IC agencies
Background in enterprise system deployment and management
Knowledge of change management processes
Knowledge of SecureView CDS
